Volunteers Help Veteran With Tree Removal
Once again the McQueeney VFD Volunteers were ready to respond. When it was learned that an Air Force veteran in the Schertz area needed help with the removal of two large palm trees that had been killed by the winter freeze, our volunteers came to help with chainsaws and trucks to take care of the task for him. Thank you volunteers, and thank you veterans for your service!
McQueeney VFD Social Night August 30, 2021
The McQueeney VFD held a social night last Monday. It was an opportunity to meet firefighter’s families and enjoy each other’s company in a casual and comfortable setting. A delicious meal was served including pulled pork sandwiches prepared by Gerald and Sandy Weniger and an array of sides and luscious desserts prepared by the members. Following the meal, a number of members were recognized for completion of EMT and other educational and training programs.

McQueeney VFD Provides Mutual Aid for Apartment Fire
The McQueeney VFD responded to a 3 alarm fire at the Summers Bend Apartment complex in the 1200 block of East Walnut Street early Thursday morning. The call came in at about 12:30 A.M. McQueeney VFD Volunteers Step Up to Help Prepare School Supply Bags
McQueeney VFD volunteers once again helped serve the community Wednesday evening by assisting Crosspoint Fellowship Church in Schertz to stuff bags with school supplies for area children. The project was part of the Bridge Builders Program, a non- profit that assists in helping school-aged children.
McQueeney VFD Receives Donation from Karras Randolph Signature Property Group
The McQueeney VFD was gifted with a generous donation of $828 at their monthly business meeting on Monday night. The funds were donated by the Karras Randolph Signature Property Group to fulfill a commitment to donate a given percentage of sales income to a non-profit organization. A huge thank you to Karras Randolph!

McQueeney Volunteers Ready to Respond on July 4th Weekend
McQueeney VFD volunteers manned the McQueeney Station continuously from Friday noon until Monday morning during the July 4th holiday weekend, ready to respond to calls. During the weekend, they responded to 6 medical calls and monitored Lake McQueeney during the fireworks show sponsored by Lake Breeze Ski Lodge. Below, a couple of volunteers have a little fun in between calls.
