McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Wreck at Klien Rd. and FM 1044

At 6:49 PM on Thursday July 18 McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist Marion Fire Department with a major 2 vehicle accident with a confirmed entrapment at FM 1044 & Klein Road. McQueeney VFD responded with 1 rescue truck and 5 firefighters. Once on scene McQueeney firefighters extricated the trapped victim with the use of hydraulic rescue tools by removing the entire driver side of the vehicle. Once free from the vehicle, the occupant was turned over to Schertz EMS paramedics who were already on scene. The occupant was then transported to an area hospital by Schertz EMS to receive medical attention for his injuries. Agencies on scene included the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, TXDPS Highway Patrol, Marion Fire Department, McQueeney Volunteer Fire Dept, and Schertz EMS.
