The McQueeney VFD was gifted with swift water rescue equipment including helmets, lights, vests and stretchers through funds collected by Whataburger and distributed by the Gary Sinise Foundation. McQueeney VFD was one of only 7 fire departments nationwide chosen for this award. A celebration for the presentation of the equipment was held on Friday, June 6th, at the VFW Hall in McQueeney. Representatives from both the Foundation and Whataburger were present along with first responders from the fire department and members of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office. The group was treated to a meal provided by Whataburger.
