The 4th annual “Touch a Truck” event was held yesterday in the Country Church parking lot. Trucks and vehicles of every variety were on hand. Children were allowed access to the vehicles and to blow horns. A DJ played a variety of music all day, and many children and adults danced along with the music. A burn trailer was brought in and firefighters from area volunteer fire departments and Station 71, wearing full bunker gear and air tanks ,demonstrated how a fire within a structure was extinguished. The event included food, drinks and a raffle of 2 quilts made by the Country Church quilters, all at no cost to attendees. Plenty of freebies were given away by various participating companies. The participants and attendees endured the heat and had a great time. A big thank you to all who brought vehicles and all who attended. Also a huge thank you to the Country Church for sponsoring the event and providing music, food and drinks. A special thank you to the church quilters that provided the quilts for the raffles!
