McQueeney VFD Presents Fire Prevention Program to McQueeney Elementary Students

Volunteers from the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department, as well as a team of puppetmasters from Mexico, spent the day Friday (October 14th) at McQueeney Elementary School teaching the students about fire prevention and safety. The students, grades K-5, enjoyed the puppets and the demonstrations performed by the volunteers. The department also had several fire engines on display and showed the students the various tools and procedures used by the volunteers on calls.

The students also were reminded about the Haunted Fire House party that will be held 5:00-9:00 on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of October.

 

McQueeney VFD Makes a Huge Presence at National Night Out

An impressive parade of fire trucks and McQueeney volunteers took part in the Altwein Lane National Night Out community party. The neighbors were grateful and awe struck by the fire department display and took comfort in learning the level of protection they enjoy.

McQueeney Volunteers Participate in Annual Tower Climb Remembering Fallen First Responders

On Sunday, September 11, 2022, four McQueeney volunteers joined more than 500 other first responders to honor the 343 firefighters who had fallen during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on 9/11/2001. The first responders climbed the stairs in the Tower of the Americas in Hemisfair Plaza in San Antonio in full rescue gear twice, a height equal to 110 floors and exceeding the height of the Twin Towers that were destroyed in the attacks. Each participant carried a tag bearing the name of a firefighter who perished that day. Members from McQueeney included Chief Michael Wiedner, Assistant Chief Ray Salas, Firefighter/EMT Brant Wilhoit and Lt./EMT Jonathan Dominguez.

Family Night August 29, 2022

The McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department volunteers and their families were treated to a barbecue chicken dinner and an assortment of sides and desserts last Monday. The meal and fellowship was enjoyed by all.  Family Night is observed regularly when there is a 5th Monday in the month.

McQueeney VFD Celebrates Independence Day

McQueeney VFD Volunteers participated in the Seguin parade, monitored the fireworks show on Lake McQueeney, plus manned the fire station, providing 24 hour protection for the McQueeney community over the Independence Day weekend. McQueeney VFD Fire Chief Michael Wiedner would like to thank the community for entrusting the department with their safety and emergency needs.  We are proud to serve McQueeney and the surrounding area.

Our McQueeney VFD Chief, Michael Wiedner, is currently in Florida doing the final inspection of our brand new Engine 11!!! As a department, we would like to thank the community from the bottom of our hearts for helping us make this purchase possible.

We work hard to better serve the community of McQueeney and of Guadalupe County every single day! We still need help from our community, our most valued members, in paying for the new truck and outfitting it so that we can better serve and protect you.
