Last night kicked off 2026 with a bang and some great training for your McQueeney Fire Department volunteers. Last night we were joined by our brothers and sisters from neighboring Marion VFD as well! 16 firefighters from McQueeney and Marion came together to hone their search & rescue skills for victim removals from structure fires. The training featured guest instructor Noah Casias from BC2FD & Rural Fire Tactics who is a veteran truck company firefighter and a subject matter expert on search and rescue skills. Firefighters were given the opportunity for a number of reps on each skill covered and a number of laughs were had during the class as well. Drill nights like these allow us to build our camaraderie with each other and our brothers and sisters from other area departments as well, all while improving our skill sets and proficiency. 2026 will focus on core skills and continuing to improve the quality of the level of response and care we are able to provide our citizens and visitors here in McQueeney and in Guadalupe County as a whole. We appreciate the community’s support and stand ready to serve you in your time of need should you have an emergency.
