During this period of extremely cold and hazardous weather that is expected to last until mid-week, we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to stay home and off the roads. Per County Judge Kyle Kutscher, the burn ban was lifted as of 10:00 a.m. on January 4th. Please continue to exercise caution!
Darren Heine, representing BBA Architects, gave a presentation to the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, December 7th. The company offered a proposal for construction of the new department facility at the corner of FM 725 and Lakeview Trail.
The proposed project includes a 12,505 square foot building, including truck bays, meeting spaces, kitchen and dorm rooms for overnight emergency monitoring.
The Seguin Area Community Foundation donated $1000 to the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, November 2nd. Shown in the photo are McQueeney VFD Chief Tim Bogisch, Foundation representatives Greg Seidenberger, Mel Grones, Dottsy Dwyer and Dylan Powell and Assistant Fire Chief Ray Salas, Jr. The funds will be used to buy needed equipment.
On Monday evening, April 20, the McQueeney VFD paraded fire department vehicles through the McQueeney area neighborhoods, sirens and horns blasting. Areas visited included Lake Ridge, McQueeney Estates, Woodlake, Downtown McQueeney, Cypress Grove and the Altwein Lane communities. Many residents came out to wave flags and show their support and appreciation.
